Getting There

There are not too many options getting to Honk Kong from Manchester. Turk Air are the cheapest by a couple of quid, but they are a bit Ryan Airish.

We had a good experience flying with Emirates last year and it also gives me the chance to try the A380 so it was a no brainer.

The flight was advertised as having one stop in Dubai. However, further inspection of my itinerary it was actually also stopping in Bangkok - but as it was the same aircraft on to HK that stop doesn't count. Thompson caught us out a few years ago with this Trick - and confiscated all out duty free. See the pocket threes blog for that adventure..

Anyway, what more than made up for that oversight on my part was a free upgrade to Business for the Dubai leg!

So A380 Business Class. It goes without saying how amazing it is. The staff are so attentive but also friendly. They all love their job and it shows.

Alison has covered it in a previous post, but I thought it would cover again it as mine was free!

I spent best part of 3 hours on and off stood at the bar. Chatting to the staff and other randoms.

Layout is staggered so everyone can lie down.

Standard outbound cross the wing shot. The wing are massive. When stationary you can't just see the top of the wing tip because the sag so much!

Unlike the Fiveways, it's easy to get served. Oh, and it's free.
