The boys have both taken part in most stuff this year, Jack anything with a ball and George anything he wants.. all we wanted was a winner and George pulled it out the bag!

Since Martin introduced Jack to it at the Riu it’s something Jack favourite activity- but like Martin gets frustrated when other can’t hit it back.

The Other Pool

Given the size of the hotel disappointed that we can only find one pool table in the sports bar.

Maohi Parataito

Always other things going on at the hotel, wedding most days, and they hosted Maohi Parataito - some kind of kids? dance confrence. 

The issue was them putting it on the main stage is that unless you were a parent it wasn’t particularly entraining.  

It then overran meaning the main show, being Africa night was squeezed and the crowd thined out.

Mixology

Best bar in the place. These guys know what the are doing with proper cocktails not the 99% crushed ice sort you get in pool bars. 

Of course the knew what a baby Guinness was! 

White Party

Another staple entertainment night. 

Although we all turned up dressed in black and went for dinner in a sea of white before we went back and got changed - except Jack who doesn’t own any white clothes..

Steak House

As expected I made the wrong choice as always. It’s not a massive plate..  

Foam Party

Bread and butter activities. Obviously you grown out of that after 13 🤣

Kids are allowed at the pool bars here, but only allowed to get their own drinks. 

Boys night out

Mum was done. So George and I made the most of it,  watched the live band, strolled on the beach during the full moon, caught a bit of the NFL draft in the sports bar and played table football where Jack met us. Then popped in cave club which hadn’t got going on the way up to bed

Zen

As well as the buffet this place has ten or so restaurants which you can either walk in or get a buzzer for and go get a drink while you wait. 

Not Zen.. this can only be booked via guest services on the morning of. Guest services open at 7, at which point there is a queue of 30+. Normalised by the hotel laying on a guy with tea, coffee and donuts to look after the guests.

So it’s a 6;30 start to secure a booking - no big deal when you are still on uk time. 

It was worth it. Food and entertainment top class.
