Heading Home

Last couple of days the sun stayed out and we got some frying time in.

The last day was a late flight, no late checkouts are available, so just used the showers in the spa block.

Hearded into the bus and just as we pulled up to the airport, the rep broken the news that the outbound aircraft was grounded in Menorca due two a lightening strike. They are sending two smaller aircraft from the UK but one would be two hours later than the other.

Gamble as to which flight you got put on,  and people who have paid to sit together etc might not be able to.

We got lucky on both accounts.

Something turned up anyway..

Then there is the stress of having cases overweight. Preparing to start putting clothes on we got though bang on the money.

Landed fine just waiting for the cases.. Hoping I'll see my car again...

Change Over Day

Load of new folk turned up last night. Heard people dragging cases round and excited kids in the pool.

This morning walking to breakfast there where families of white people covered in suntan cream stood around in the rain.

Breakfast was carnage, first day syndrome- plates piled high with as much food as possible having one of everything.

Here's the Problem...

The Calima.

Supposed to last another four days. basically this means no sun for us.

And a lot more of these..

Eating Out

Getting fed up with the routine we wandered out again. El Gaucho!

Impressive place both inside and out. Random drinks thanks no surprise as the waitress wasn't writing anything down, and her English wasn't great. She just brought beer and water - so long as is wasn't more bloody Tropical that'll do.

Steaks where big and bloody - that will be saying in my small intensive for the rest of my life...

After that we popped next door into the shopping entaitianment hub that is the previously mentioned Kasbah.

There where a few other people kicking about hardly rocking for August.

Parque Cristobal

General resort. In the sun.

Alternative Pirates..

Spotted in one of the bars..

Rain

So we are a week in and it has rained everyday except two. The wind is as relentless as the reps trying to get you to partake in activities.

Unfortunately ping pong tourney was cancelled due to the wind and the footy was called off because the pitch was flooded.

Still the pool Zumba continues as I sit under the parasol to stop the rain washing off my sun tanning oil.

I'll do it...

Independence. The reality is shite everywhere at nosebag time.

Kids wandering about with food sliding off plates, not looking where they are going or trying to eat it as the carry it. Nightmare.

Sand Dunes

Maspalomas sand dunes on the tip of the peninsula.

Barcelona

Trying to pick up a Barc kit for Jack. All the market stall holders ask what age.. and are puzzled when I say 2015...

All the kits we have seen so far are at least last years or older. Still top price, even with thier dubious authenticity.

The 2015/16 kit has hoops rather than vertical lines making it quite obvious. Still the guys trying to convince you that this is the current year, or nobody cares - some have loads still to shift.

The search continues..

Pirates...

Part of the compensation from the room f*ck up was a free excursion. Her condition ruled out most active ones, but we thought jack might enjoy the pirate ship.

Bus down to Puerto Rico harbour.

They had a new girl being the kids entatainer without which the only Pirate theme was the Captain shouting 'Rrrr' before any anoucment.

We went up the coast on diesel power and dropped anchor off Puerto De Morgan. They set up a ladder off one side so people could have a swim.

It was carnage. People trying to get up the ladder, who were knackered after treading water for so long in the wake of jet skis - and parents trying to come down with there kids. Kids who where balling and screaming not wanting to go in the sea having their fingers prised of the ladder one by one.

The whole thing was a health and safety nightmare. Vertical ladders, everyone barefoot with 7up and diesel sloshing around the floor with the swell of the boat.

The magic was spoiled by someone throwing up over the side - I wasn't allowed to take any photies...

Normally it's me. I felt ill on the phantom whale watching boat. This time I was feeling nauseous from the coach journey to and from.

Jack enjoyed it, they had a brief treasure hunt and a water ballon for everyone before we headed back to the harbour.

Not a bad half day out, would have been good to have a plank to walk, not sure it was worth the €60 a head the others paid.

Morning Ride

Managed to hire a cheap mountain bike from reception. Alison is cursing after packing my spds. At just under a kilo for the pair they were a bone of contention in the hall with the bathroom scales just before we left....

Kasbah was even sadder than Yumbo. The market stall guys seemed more desperate and place was completely my dead.

It was friggin hot! Ironically it was better to keep moving for the breeze or risk becoming a ball of sweat.

Spanish sense of humor in this view point area. Some are obvious. Some less so.

If you do too much of this..

And maybe this.. (Assume it's boozing, - although could be using a telescope)

You end up like this..

God know what this was..
