Wheels up.

We had a late flight home, and with the villa empty until the weekend the manager kindly put off the cleaner so we could spend the last day thier and make the most of it.

A long day turned into a longer one when the plane was delayed over and hour due to some technical problem which forced them to land at Lisbon on the outbound journey.

Very tired grumpy children on the way home. But we made it without any emergencies.

Last Night

Apparently the Gillespie tradition to jump in the pool fully clothed on the last day of the holiday.

Fueled by Malibu and a encouraged with a 10€ bet the attempt to walk across the pool failed.

iPads and Ice Cream

Same thing really. Too much is bad for the kids, but they love it and it keeps them quiet.

What did we do before the iPad?

Last Few Days..

The sun stayed around so we did much of the same. Beach, more fishing, bit of golf, saw the chip monks again.

Done the resort now, we have walked around most roads and seen the bars.

Authentic tapas on out finial night with live Spanish guitarist finished off a good week.

Fishing

A young boy had caught a fish in a net this morning at the beach and yes all jack wanted to do was catch a fish... A net and loaf of bread later and jack had 11fish in his bucket.... Sure there is a story about something similar to that!!

Spanish DIY

Leak sorted.

Chipmunk Hill

Headed up the rest of the hill to get a view across the resort this morning. Load of empty villas, and some big construction has been abandoned.

From the top you can see the airporto and realise why we are in the direct flight path.

Mysterious crosses at the top mark the large piles of rubble.

At Last

The sun has arrived. Down to business...

Mad Half Hour

First sit down meal followed by mad half hour.

Cards and cocktails

Not sure who will be going to be first......
Well after the kids have gone of course

Disabled snorkelling?

Boat Trip

Sorted a boat trip to keep the kids busy which was great. Enjoyed by all.

Shameless selfy.

We also met Donna! Kissey kissey!

Day Three

Today was the forecast of heavy rain. So we headed down into town to see the harbour.

Down to the sea defences along the promenade. To see the 'furry animals' that lived in the rocks Grandad Peter told us about. As I looked up the bleak landscape which didn't look unlike the moon, I was just saying to Mike 'there is no way anything lives here.. When a small furry popped up.

Quite tame.

Jack of course loved it!

Mike scrabbled about to get the pap lens out for some close ups. The chip monk came up and had a sniff at the lens. #fail

Flat Pack BBQ

Does anyone know where you can buy these from (+delivery) in the uk!?
