Journey Home

The late night meant an early start which pushed into the busy checkout period. The others where up, fed and watered by the time we met in NYNY for breakfast.

Mike headed to the poker table and we did a bit of tat shopping.

Another pit stop at Wolfgang’s this time all together for spot of lunch and dearth by chocolate before we got an Uber to the airport.

The flight was long and uneventful, delayed a touch. Annoying flew over Liverpool before landing in Frankfurt.

I’ve said it before but as the pound continues to tumble it’s going to be a while before I get back again.

The Last Night

Mike was done, and wanted a decent sleep ahead of traveling.

I had my arm twisted and so Paul and I headed out to Nine Fine Irishmen to check on the Guinness.

Managed to avoid the cover (on a Monday!?)

Then after a wander round NYNY we headed back to the Lobby Bar at the MGM. Later than planned to bed but hey..

Real Food

Mayonnaise from Top Golf got the better of Rob as he retired not wanting a hungover journey home tomorrow.

The rest of us actually went for a proper bit of food. For sheer convenience it was back ti Wolfgang in the MGM for the nicest steak I’ve had for a while.

Last Corona Poker

After Golf we headed to the Poker table. Declined the afternoon tournament that was about to start and eventually managed to get on the same table for a cash game.

Paul realised it was the banter that make poker more enjoyable so being stuck between a dumb guy and  Bitcoin guy wasn’t the best.

Mike struck it up with a Scottish cabbie as we saw others come and go including the Indian couple with the subservient husband..

Top Golf

Fully charged and feeing normal for the first time in a week it’s out last day.

Not my bag personally but happy to give Top Golf a go.

Gamified driving range started with a practice round to figure out how it worked before Deanes Vs Degens.

After a strong start by Rob the Degens came back to be victorious

Like the driving range at Netherly I’m told, with a WAGS pool and of course 30 degree heat..

Only time will tell if  our server ‘Top Golf Girl’ will pass on the obvious cold she had..

Sad Sacs

After the game we needed a plan, Paul was flagging and it wouldn’t have ended well for the rest of us if we had pushed on to the sports bar as originally planned.

After a few hours sleep we headed out about 9:30 to Beer Park once again. Being a Sunday it was dead, the place actually closed and we wander to the Linq.

Yard Ale was closed, after a whiskey in ‘Off the Strip’ Paul hit a wall.

We carried on to see dialing pianos in the Flamingo trying to find somewhere lively.

We walked about some more and ended up outside Omnia. The main room and balcony where closed, and a Latino DJ was mopping up the back end of Mexico Independence weekend.

After which Rob was done. We wandered back having the Bellagio conservatory to ourselves, though the Park back home seeing the Queens funeral being shown on various screens.

Raiders

The stadium is amazing, because we where early we could see the view from pitch side and the third tier. And I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house.

Usual NFL pomp and ceremony with Carlos Santana playing the national anthem on an electronic guitar while they wrestle with the biggest flag I’ve ever seen. Topped of with a fly past by a hand full of F35s with the strip visible though the massive window at one end of the stadium.

The fans are passionate to say the least I has some woman shouting down my ear at regular intervals watching a fully grown man in front of us hitting the glass barrier with his hand like a child.

The Raiders took an early lead into half time and to me looked good for it. Tensions ran high as the Cardinals pulled it back in the second half forcing extra time. After a series of fouls and challenges the Raiders lost..

Despite a few crazies we didn’t see any trouble even walking home in the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen with both fans mixing together. Hardly any police presence outside the stadium as we walked back to the MGM.

To the Death Star..

Few hour sleep quick shower and we scooped Paul up from the Poker table on our way to the Allegiant Stadium, new home of the Raiders for their first home game of the season.

Surprisingly short walk from Mandalay Bay even by Vegas standards first stop was the tail gate party.

After a foot of Polish sausage to start the day we headed over to the stadium early to get out of the heat.

Calvin

Spent a few hours outside during the warm up DJ, watching the Whynn drone before queueing to get in for Calvin .

The usual table based craziness inside with the Samoan Rugby team on duty keeping the plebs away from the expensive booze. Swear they got bigger the closer to the dance floor.

For me, Calvin was a slow start, and drifted into a trance set after and hour or so. A bit of a disappointment really.

Then we almost made a big mistake and left, the post Calvin DJ was better!

Uber home and we left Paul on the Poker tables..
