Kennedy Space Centre

Breakfast was ok. For free. Mystery meet sausages and a dubious 'pancake' machine. I've had worse. I've paid for worse.

Anyway head to to the space centre and get some tickets. Lots of history, here with patriotism turned up to eleven.

We paid extra for an explorer tour taking us out to the lauchpads 39a and b where all the action has taken place since Saturn/Apollo taking off for the moon and all 135 shuttle missions.

Saw the mobile launch platform, the crawler and the massive vehicle assembly building. Also saw a lot of 'gators'.

There was a live rocket sat on another pad ready to go. Delayed from yesterday we did hope it would go today but that chance was scrubbed mid afternoon due to the weather forcast.

The jewel in the crown is the lastest attraction - Alantis. The last shuttle to fly. Always suspicious of the authenticity of these places, touching lunar rock, and walking down the same gantry that Neil Armstong did etc. Christ I didn't think any of the Tombs in Egypt were real.

But to quote our bus driver/guide talking about the new attraction 'trust me, we wouldn't build a 100 million dollar building to put a model in' fair enough.

VAB- Vehicle Assembly Building. Biggest single story building in the world, biggest doors in the world etc etc..

Mission Control

Business end of a 400ft high Saturn V rocket. Truly massive.

Alantis!

I meant to ask someone where the others are.

All in a good visit. One for real space geeks. Without Alantis is would have been average at best, pushing it to justify the price. There is even a Space Angry Bird zone.

So with that concluding in with the biggest space souvenir shop in the world, we hit the road heading south looking for another hotel for the night.
